Welcome to Posh! My journey to fitness was an unexpected one. Like many people, I loved to eat and hated to exercise. I joined the gym hoping to get motivated but quickly became bored. I discovered Zumba in 2015 and instantly fell in love with this dance fitness format. After only a few months, I became a licensed Zumba instructor and have since obtained other fitness licenses.
With so many stressors in the world, Posh is a place of refuge. Our classes make you feel good and each person is like family! Come in and let your hair down. We won't judge!

Although I grew up in a family filled with athletes. I was never athletic myself. After joining the Army at age 17, fitness quickly became a part of my life and served me well in my profession as a police officer for the past 18 years. I also work as a Mental Health Professional. My health took a turn in 2013 when my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Being an only child, I took on the role as her caregiver. As with most caregivers it became difficult to keep up with my own health. Food quickly became my way to escape the pain and stress of taking care of a terminally ill parent. After weighing nearly 200 lbs and being diagnosed with several medical conditions to include: high blood pressure, hyperthyroid disease, ulcers, sleep apnea, vitamin deficiency, and gastrointestinal issues, I was placed on numerous medications by my physician. The side effects from the medication were far worse than any illness I had been diagnosed with. I decided that I no longer wanted to be on medication. My dad suggested I find a local Zumba class to participate in. I started my fitness journey that same year. I instantly fell in love with Zumba. Where else could you meet wonderful people and be able to express your love for music and dance?
I not only loved Zumba, but I loved the way it made me feel. I lost about 15 lbs going to Zumba class, but my doctor stated that I needed to lose more in order to get off medication. In October 2014, I decided to join boot camp where I not only learned about the importance of doing a variety of exercises, but also the important role that nutrition plays in your life. I lost over 40 lbs. I am also happy to say that I no longer take any medications. Zumba and bootcamp both have helped me in so many ways. It motivates me to help others while sharing my love for Zumba and fitness. I am currently licensed in Zumba, Strong by Zumba, and Zumba in the Circuit.
